Seattle, Washington montageARSC held its 39th Annual Conference at the University of Texas at Austin

Conference Information

Local Information and Arrangements

Hosted by the University of Texas at Austin in collaboration with ARSC's Texas Chapter, this conference is one you won't want to miss. In addition to cattle, oil and the space program, Texas is renowned for its great food, music, culture and southern hospitality. Not to mention the fact that Austin is the Live Music Capital of the World!

The conference program will feature nationally renowned speakers on topics including the birth of the gospel recording industry, sticky shed syndrome and copyright issues. There will also be several presentations with a particular emphasis on Texas music, and a special appearance by National Public Radio's Kitchen Sisters is sure to be a conference highlight!

On Thursday, we will tour the Lyndon B. Johnson Presidential Library and the Austin City Limits studio at KLRU, and you certainly won't want to miss the Wednesday night Reception or our annual Saturday night Awards Banquet.

As a special bonus, the world's largest record show will be taking place on Saturday and Sunday, enabling conference registrants an opportunity to return home with new treasures to add to their collections. A split-level record collectors' meeting and listening room will also be available Friday night at the Radisson.

This will be the first time ARSC has met in the Lone Star State, and a grand time will be had by all. Make plans now to attend!
