Driving
Directions from BWI Airport and the NORTHEAST:
Baltimore-Washington International Airport (BWI) is about 30 miles
and takes less than an hour from The Liaison Capitol Hill. Driving
in takes close to an hour.
- From BWI airport, follow signs for I-95 West.
- Take the Baltimore/Washington
Parkway / MD-295 South exit towards Washington, exit #2B.
- Merge on
MD-295 South.
- Take the New York Avenue (US-50 West) exit towards
Washington.
- Continue on New York Avenue NW.
- Turn left onto North Capitol Street,
NW.
- When you see the US Capitol Dome ahead, you're getting close!
- Turn
right onto Louisiana Avenue and then right again quickly onto D Street,
NW.
- Go one block, then turn right onto New Jersey Avenue, NW.
- Liaison
Capitol Hill is located in the first block, on the right, at 415
New Jersey Avenue, NW.
Driving
Directions from Dulles International Airport:
Dulles International Airport (IAD) is just about 27 miles and takes
less than 45 minutes from The Liaison Capitol Hill.
- From the Dulles IAD airport, follow signs to
Interstate 66 East.
- Cross the Roosevelt Bridge into Washington.
- Take Constitution Avenue
East toward the US Capitol.
- Turn left onto Louisiana Avenue, NW.
- Proceed on Louisiana Ave.
for three short blocks; turn left onto New Jersey Avenue, NW.
- Hotel
is on your right, at 415 New Jersey Avenue, NW.
Directions
from Reagan National Airport:
Reagan National Airport (DCA) is about five miles from The Liaison
Capitol Hill. The drive takes less than 10 minutes.
- From the airport, take the George Washington Memorial
Parkway North toward Washington.
- Take the 14th Street Bridge exit
(ramp is to your right).
- Follow signs to Interstate 395 North.
- Once you are on I-395, look
for the signs for US Senate - D Street NW. Careful! You will need
to merge to the right over several lanes
of traffic.
- The exit will take you into a tunnel. Remain in the
right lane (D Street, NW) and proceed through one short tunnel merging
to the right
lane through a second longer tunnel. Take the D Street NW-US Capitol
exit.
- Turn right onto D Street NW. At the second light, turn left
onto New Jersey Avenue, NW.
- Liaison Capitol Hill is located in the
first block, on the right, at 415 New Jersey Avenue, NW.
Directions
from Union Station:
From the Metro stop, AMTRAK, MARC Commuter Train, and VRE Commuter
Train.
Union Station is located just 3 blocks from The Liaison Capitol Hill.
The station houses disembarkation points for AMTRAK trains, including
the Acela trains from New York and Boston. The Metro subway has a Union
Station stop, and commuter trains from Virginia and Maryland stop here
as well.
- Exit the station and walk toward the US Capitol, following
the first small section of the semi-circle that is adjacent to the
station.
- Turn right onto E Street, NW.
- After one block, you will cross North
Capitol Street. The Capitol dome will be clearly visible to your
left.
- Continue on E Street for one block, and then turn left onto
New Jersey Avenue, NW.
- The Liaison Capitol Hill is in the first block,
on your left.
- This walk is slightly downhill and quite feasible if
you are using wheeled luggage.
- Taxis are also available at Union
Station for a charge of about $5.00.
Driving
Directions from the SOUTH:
- Take Interstate 95 north toward Washington. I-95 will
become I-395 where it crosses I-495 (aka the Capital Beltway). (Do
not proceed on I-95 east toward Baltimore.)
- Proceed on I-395 north,
passing the Pentagon and crossing the Potomac River.
- Stay in one
of the right lanes, being careful to remain on I-395 until you see
signs for D Street, NW.
- Proceed through a long tunnel, merging right
over several lanes, and take the exit marked "D St. NW - US Capitol." When
you see the light at the end of this tunnel, proceed straight ahead
to the stoplight at the end of the tunnel. (Do not take the little
exit near the end of the tunnel that curves off to the right.)
- Turn
right onto D Street, NW. At the second light (2 blocks), turn left
onto New Jersey Avenue, NW.
- Liaison Capitol Hill is located in the
first block, on the right, at 415 New Jersey Avenue, NW.
Driving
Directions from the WEST:
Reagan National Airport (DCA) is about five miles from The Liaison
Capitol Hill. The drive takes less than 10 minutes.
- From the airport, take the George Washington Memorial Parkway North
toward Washington.
- Take I-70 east to I-270 south to I-495
south, following signs for Northern Virginia.
- After crossing the
American Legion Bridge over the Potomac River, take I-66 east.
- Cross
the Roosevelt Bridge into Washington.
- Take Constitution Avenue East
toward the US Capitol.
- Turn left onto Louisiana Avenue, NW.
- Proceed on Louisiana Ave.
for three short blocks; turn left onto New Jersey Avenue, NW.
- Hotel
is on your right, at 415 New Jersey Avenue, NW.
Other
ways to travel to the hotel from the airports:
Public Transportation
The
Metro runs directly from Reagan Airport to Union Station and takes
approximately 22 minutes; there is a short walk from Union Station
to the hotel. Public transportation is also available from Dulles
and BWI; detailed instructions are available on the Metro
website.
Super Shuttles
Super Shuttle offers service between downtown hotels and the three
airports. Contact Super Shuttle at 1-800-BLUE-VAN; reservations and
fare quotes can also be obtained via the Super
Shuttle website.
- Shuttles from Reagan National Airport cost about $15
per person; cab fare is about $15.
- Shuttles from Dulles International
Airport cost about $29 per person; cab fare is about $50.
- Shuttles
from Baltimore-Washington International Airport cost about $35
per person; cab fare is about $60. Please note: Although you can
travel between BWI and Union Station via MARC train and a bus, taking
a cab is actually more efficient.
Parking
Parking rates at the Liaison Capitol Hill are currently unavailable,
but most likely will be in the range of $30 per night. There are other
parking garages in the neighborhood which may be less expensive; specific
details will be supplied at a later date.
Weather
The weather in the D.C. area during the latter part of May averages
78° during the day and 60° at night, though temperatures in
the 80s with a high humidity level are also common.
